Election of Member for Dental Council of India – Himachal State Representative (2018)

The Dental Council of India (DCI) conducted elections for the Himachal Pradesh State representative in accordance with the Dentists Act, 1948, Section 3(a). The elections were held via postal ballot during the period from November to December 2018.

The Government of Himachal Pradesh, vide letter No. HFW-B(A)3-1/2011 dated 22.09.2018, appointed Dr. Vijay Singh Chauhan, SMO (Dentist), Deen Dayal Upadhyay Zonal Hospital, Shimla, as the Returning Officer for conducting the said election.

A total of 1,523 dentists who were duly registered and had renewed their registration with the Himachal Pradesh State Dental Council were eligible to vote.

The election results were declared on 22nd December 2018 at the office of the HP State Dental Council, Shimla.Prof. (Dr.) Gaurav Gupta, Director, Himachal Institute of Dental Sciences, Paonta Sahib, was declared the elected member to the Dental Council of India as the representative from Himachal Pradesh.

• Total invalid votes: 110

• Votes in favour of Prof. (Dr.) Gaurav Gupta: 610610
