Provisional Registration of BDS students before undergoing one year internship

Dental Council of India vide letter No. DE-NEET(MDS)Admission-2021/3099-M dated 29th Nov. 2021 (click to download DCI letter copy), has directed all the State Dental Councils to start Provisional Registration for a student who has passed their BDS Final year and issue Provisional Registration for the purpose of allowing BDS graduates to practice clinical dentistry in the college during the internship and to appear for AIIMS PG, NEET PG Exam.

Earlier, in a dental college/institute situated in Himachal and also in other states, a student could register as a practitioner with the State Dental Council only after the completion of a one-year internship. However, some State Dental Councils such as Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and Karnataka have already started the provisional registration in respect of those who have passed their BDS Course and doing their internship.

Now, the Dept. of Medical Education and Research, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh vide its letter No. HFW-B(A)3-7/2004-Loose-403 dated 13.12.2021 has approved the Performa for Provisional Registration of BDS students with the HP State Dental Council after completion of BDS Final year.

Before starting an internship in any recognized dental college/institute, a student must register with a State Dental Council.

For registration with Himachal State Dental Council following attested documents are required:

1. 2 Passport Size Photograph

2. Matriculation Certificate (Date of Birth)

3. BDS mark sheet(1st,2nd,3rd and Final Year)

4. Bonafide Certificate

5. Proof of Residence (Aadhar Card/ Voter Card/ Driving License)

6. Provisional Reg Fee (Rs 1000/- for detail Check website: www.hpsdc.org.in)

Note: All the documents should be attested by the Principal of the concerned Dental College/institute.
