At the outset, we express our deep gratitude for giving to us this opportunity to host the 2nd Himachal Dental Students Conference – “Occlusion 2019” at our campus from 29th March to 31st March 2019.
HIDS was established in the year 2003 under the dynamic leadership of Dr. VK Gupta. Our campus is situated on a scenic 8-acre plot of land on the banks of river Yamuna, surrounded on all sides by hills, at a small but beautiful town of Paonta Sahib in Himachal Pradesh. The campus is large enough to hold different sporting events like cricket, football, badminton, basket-ball, athletic events and various cultural activities. Lush green lawns, those are there in the campus, would add to your pleasure.
The three-days conference shall include academic activities like Paper & Poster Presentations, Inter College Sports and Cultural Programmes and shall get concluded with prize distributions to the winners, as also to students who have excelled in academics; like the university toppers/distinction holders. Apart from trophies and medals to the winners, certificates of participation shall be given to all students. It is proposed that while academic and sports events shall be held on the first and the second day, the third day has been reserved for cultural events and the prize distribution ceremony. A lively dance programme with DJ in attendance, shall be held every night. The detailed schedule of events and registration procedure etc. shall be conveyed to you in due course.
As we all know, such events provide a platform for interaction amongst students of different colleges and the participants can exchange their ideas/views helping in their overall development. Various sports and cultural events evolve amongst the contestants a sense of competition and desire to perform exceptionally well in every field of life. The faculty members too can get benefitted by exchanging their views and experiences with each other.
Approximately 250 students will be accommodated in the campus on a first-come first-serve basis. Others will be able to get themselves accommodated in a number of budget hotels and guest houses near to the College
